Gauteng Choristers

Gauteng Choristers, a choir based in the Gauteng region registered as a non profit making organization, was formed in 1998. Since its inception, this choir has achieved to form the foundation of contributing positively towards classical and choral music development and excellence.

The accolades that this choirs has achieved, are a living proof, not only in South Africa but globally, that it has developed into one of the cornerstones in choral and classical music of our times

The choir has achieved numerous prestigious awards such as being the National Champions in the National Choir Festival in 2001, after being the 2nd and 1st runners up in 1999 and 2000 respectively.

The choir was also crowned the National champions in the SACMA Eistedtford 2003/4. The choir as recently qualified to represent the Gauteng Region for the 9th consecutive year in the National Choir Festival that will be taking place in Durban in December 2007.

This choir is also the reigning National champions in the SAPO/SACMA Music Eistedtford 2007 winning this competition two years in a row. The Gauteng Choristers is also currently the National Champions of the Telkom/ Old Mutual National Choir Festival, which is Choral Olympics of South Africa.
